Brand spanking new right out of the MLW factory in Montreal, two of International Nickel's RS-18s, 208-3 and 208-2, are being given the "once over" by Capreol's shop staff and the outbound crew. These units which are dead in tow were heading to Thompson, Manitoba.

  1. Now THAT is a remarkable image. Never seen these units before. Thanks for posting.

  2. Nice shot! According to the Canadian Trackside Guide, Locomotive 208-3 was later acquired by the Ontario Southland Railway in 1995 and became OSRX 183.

  3. These very late built RS-18′s that came long after MLW’s Century line began. They have many of their internal features and thus could be considered C-418′s. Built low nose inc. QIT 46 which recently was acquired by Sartigan, a small Quebec shortline that also has acquired all 4 of OS’s ex BC Rail M420′s. OS 183 long out of service.
