For several months in 2001, pairs of SD40-2Fs were assigned to CP's Expressway. It seemed like an ideal match, as there was little switching enroute, and the operation was much like that of a passenger train, with scheduled departure and arrival times. Usually I would hear the eastbound train before I’d see it, as the hogger would have his steeds wound up, screaming in that high-pitched howl that SDs emit. Unfortunately it is now an overnight operation, so photos in daylight are difficult to come by. It’s just one more reason to never take what a railway is currently doing for granted.
