I'd call this a 'Murphy's Law' evening. For if the weather is nice, the evening train usually has 2 or 3 units. When the weather is crap, such as this evening, dark, dreary and wet; along comes a colourful 6 unit lashup. I am waiting here, not aware, until I see all this colour, then backpeddle in order to get all the power in the image. CP 5591, HATX 402, HLCX 3111, CP 4206, 5939 and HATX 401 certainly took away the dampened spirits I had standing around waiting for what I figured was "the usual". That is Portage Rd on the right. The location still features rail, but only a switchback to the industries in Chippawa serviced by the Welland local. Last through trains ran here in December 2001, as Mr. Host reminded me in a previous post. Engineer on this train Gordie Rivers. He posed for me with his train at Montrose Yard office, about a mile up the line. :o)
