Comments on: It’s a sunny, dusty day at Nelson Aggregates’ limestone quarry at Uhthoff, as this scene shows both ex-CPR MLW S3 switchers, handling cars from CN and CP, both of which had access to the quarry by way of their respective lines; the CN Midland Sub, and CP Port McNicoll Sub. CN handled traffic to Nelson’s Milliken site on the Uxbridge Sub, while CP handled cars to Nelson’s Scarborough Pit just south of Agincourt Yard.Switcher 07060, named SF-1 after plant manager Steve Farkas, is former CPR S3 6534. Built in 1955, the unit was retired and sold to Limestone Quarries Ltd. in 1978 as 3-6908, becoming part of Nelson Aggregates in 1986. The unit was modified with a low clearance cab at CPR John Street, allowing it to fit beneath the quarry loader. Reportedly scrapped in 1996. In the background is unit 07080, built as CP 6564 in 1957, retired and sold to Nelson aggregates in 1986, and reported scrapped in 1990.B. Ottaway Photo, Jacob Patterson Collection Slide.

The extra flags on the units are interesting, given they are on private industry tracks. Other photos showed SF-1 with green, second section flags.
