If I am not mistaken, the caboose is one of four that are ex Illinois Central that BC Rail bought. Mostly used in work service with cranes and other equipment.

Thanks Doug for the reply! Interesting that BCR would buy the large vans for work train service considering that they seemed to have many older passenger cars sitting around. I guess that BCR did not letter them as service cars as CN or CP did.
