Unlike today, the air was fresh and crystal clear as westbound CN 2800, with a loaded coal train, traveled along the Thompson River near, or at Morris, on CNs Ashcroft Sub. The location is about halfway between Lytton and Spences Bridge, and just across the river from CPs mile 84.71 Nicomen Overpass.

Westbound EOT UP 5362 with CP 8150 and 8153, hidden in the shed, at the Skoona Tunnels, Spences Bridge. This shot shows how the Thompson River is crossed here, hence the little creature. Ironically, if razor wire were installed, for safety reasons of course, CN would be sued if someone got scratched. With todays technology, I wonder why this suspension bridge hasn't been taken out. Probably more trouble than it's worth?

Westbound CP 8150, and trailing in the shed, 8153, at the Skoona Tunnels, Spences Bridge. This little creature appeared within two weeks of my last visit here. The psychology behind graffiti can be easily found online and my attitude regarding the defacing of monumental engineering feats should be taken for granted so, I'll just stick to the logistics. The following shot will show how this is possible.

Exeter Depot - 100 Mile House. For almost fifty years prior to 2002, 100 Mile House was a a regular stop for the "Cariboo Prospector". The Prospector, first run by PGE, then BCR, was made up of BUDD cars and did round trips between North Vancouver and Prince George. No idea when this particular station was built, but if anyone knows, the info would be appreciated.

Southbound BCR 4617 and 745 at Gibbs, which is no longer listed as a station. It had been located between Glenfraser and Fountain. I found an up to date photo of 4617 shown as a trailing unit in Wisconsin on March 03, 2021.

Looking I think, rather Art Deco, CP Royal Hudson 2860, an MLW 4-6-4 built in 1940 was wintering over at the BCR Shops in North Vancouver when this photo was taken in 1997. The 2860 is now on permanent loan to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish B.C.

A small portion of the cab interior of CP Royal Hudson 2860 taken in the winter of 1997. The 2860, built in 1940, is now on permanent loan to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish, B.C.

CN 2448 and 5536 are westbound at Basque on CNs Ashcroft Sub. There's a two way connection here between the CN Ashcroft and CP Thompson Subs. The crossover is used regularly due to directional running (since 1999) required to and from the coast via the Thompson and Fraser Canyons. This connection / crossover is listed as a directional running boundary. Eastbound routes beyond this point split up again at Savona and run either side of Kamloops Lake.

Westbound CP 5873 and 6049 at Agassiz on CPs Cascade Sub. With SD40-2s on the endangered species list now, I'm glad I was able to get so many of them. Quite sure the 5873 was sold for scrap in 2017 ... but I've seen a more recent shot of the 6049 taken in Calgary in September of 2019.
