Hotshot Eastbound Train NY4 crosses the CN Diamond (ex L&PS) at BX Tower as it prepares to stop at the Station (St Thomas) for a quick crew change. A pair of CN Geeps patiently wait for the signal from BX to proceed north after delivering PC Interchanging Cars.

Westbound PC BM7 pulls into the St Thomas yard for a crew change October 1974, CPR credit Valley Railway is just to the photographers left. Whistle post is for the CPR Talbot Street crossing and the Wabash Transfer Mile Board used by the OSR today.

The reason for our travels to Newfoundland was to purchase and load this narrow gauge GE 25 Ton Locomotive. The small switcher had been declared surplus by the Bowaters Paper Mill in Cornerbrook. The Locomotive would find a new home in St Thomas Ontario on the 42 inch gauge Pinafore Park Railway. After the closure of the PPR the Locomotive was moved to Huntsville and is in operation on the Portage Flyer Railway.

During a visit to Newfoundland to purchase some rail equipment from the Bowaters Paper Mill we toured the line as far as Bishops Falls. Stopped to photograph equipment at the Windsor/Grand Falls Station.

CP 4016 sits beside the CPR NYC Freighthouse in St Thomas waiting to continue its trip to the C&O Talbot Yard. It along with 4034 and 8578 brought a Detour train Via the CP St thomas.I believe it was the Acid Train using the CP St Thomas and the C&O to bypass a wreck at Thameville.

On a trip to Newfoundland on the search for 42 inch gauge equipment for the Pinafore Park Railway we stopped at the Mine at Buchans NFL where we found Whitcomb #4 busy sorting Ore cars on a cool day September 1977. I believe this was very near the end of this interesting operation and all that remains are memories and Photos We did purchase a GE 25 Tonner and Flatcar from the Bowaters Papermill in Cornerbrook which operated on the Pinafore Park Railway with the 25 Tonner now operating in Huntsville
