He hadn't taken any but one of his wife's relatives, who lived in Nebraska, always stopped in Reston on his way to Brandon. This photo shows the Reston station, looking west. The town had a small yard because the mixed trains would branch off at the far end of town onto the Reston sub which went to Wolsely, Saskatchewan. As a kid in the early sixties, I'd hang around waiting to see if the weekly wayfreight to Arcola was coming through. The crew always stopped the waycar by the station and unloaded LCL, mostly empty cream cans (that stunk to high heaven). The track closest to the camera was a long passing siding. The wye for the Reston sub was located by the coal tower in the distance. Mr. Stuckey gave these to me and kindly gave me written permission to do whatever I wanted to do with them. Hope you all enjoy them (there are two more to come)' height='150' width='200' />
This is the former Canadian Northern station at North Edmonton. It is on the line that went from downtown out o the Vegreville subdivision. Off to the right was a diamond crossing over the CN main line (ex-GTP). I am not sure when this station was torn down. The diamond is gone and this line was replaced by LRT train tracks that tunnel under the CN main. The faint lighting on the snow in the foreground was from the headlight of train # 2, the "Supercontinental". Hope all the station foamers like this!' height='150' width='200' />
