A rare sight, even in 1978. And even stranger – on ' foreign ' rails,


   the re-routed VIA Rail train #2 powered by ex CP Rail  FP7A  -  F9B  -  FP9A   units # 1432 – 4477 – 1412 . 


   Effective October 29, 1978 Via ceased service on the CP Rail Mactier Subdivision and re-routed the transcon service onto the CN Bala – south of South Parry and  south of Washago onto the CN Newmarket Subdivision.
