![Torbram is one of those locations that is not all that scenic, but brings back a lot of memories for me from my years at Humber College. While many students went to the on campus bar "Caps" during their spare periods, I went to Torbram. Back then I shot a lot more interesting power then today, but sadly it was with a crappy point and shoot camera, but fond memories none the less. This location has changed a lot since then with the removal of Malport yard, and the end of the "Roadrailer" trains assembled there. An underpass is currently being built on Torbram Rd here and soon this railfan spot will cease to exist. The track to the left heads off into the BIT intermodal terminal. Here we have CN 399 with a trio of EMD's rolling under a mostly cloud filled sky as it heads westward.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/IMG_5077-200x150.jpg)

![With lots of smoke, a CP westbound throttles up, taking "a run at the hill" to Orrs Lake. The train is still occupying the Dundas Street crossing (protected by a watchman in the distant tower) and will soon cross the Grand River as the operator at the Galt station--no doubt on the platform--inspects the train. Power is Western Lines GP9 8535, SGU-equipped RS10 8559, and an unidentified FPA2 or FA2. "OS Galt..."](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/CP8535wb-Galt-March1973-200x150.jpg)

![W914's CWR set had been set out from the previous night's 451 along with one cylindrical hopper for KWH Pipe (Uponor) in town. The power, IC 2463, ran light down from North Bay to pick it up and take it north to the Trout Creek area but first they motored past the north end and on the main and after pausing at the yard office for a couple of minutes, continued south to disconnect the hopper before heading back to the north end of the trainset to hook up and get down to business.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/20161003013-200x150.jpg)

![Here's one for the time machine. This photo was a bit of a struggle to take, considering how much the area has overgrown with weeds, light angles, and trying to match the same angle that Mr Mooney had shot at (that bridge was replaced in 2007). Although not a fancy steam engine, this train is the last daily passenger train in Niagara. One will notice how much greener the area has become since, as well. The station seen in Mr Mooney's shot was burnt down to the ground in 1994 (?), and the freight yard is only used by Trillium occasionally now a days. The only thing that sits in there full time now is MOW equipment. ![1987 would be the final year we lived in Chatham ( in November we moved to Bright's Grove, as CSX began to alter their Canadian operations). The first group of F40PH were in service, so I had stepped up my recon activities to catch the fading fleet of cab's and boosters. Once again, on a calm sunny day, I'm at the diamond crossing of the CN Chatham Sub and the CPR Windsor Sub. Train 74 is due and when I hear him at Prairie Siding, I get into position on the Windsor Sub, so as to obtain some elevation and keep the image 'clean'. Another single unit/6 car consist in the Corridor, as the aging FP9 drifts by the Absolute signal and clatters through the automatic interlocking. Happily, this engine exists today, on the Boone and Scenic Valley tourist operation, at Boone IA painted in C&NW colours.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/CM-3-6-87-VIA-74-200x150.jpg)

![2 rebuilt F40PH-3 locomotive's are in the lead of trans-continental VIA #1, also known as 'The Canadian', which crosses Canada from Toronto en-route to Vancouver. This shot is usually very rare to come across as #1 usually departs Toronto (about 45 minutes away for #1) at 22:00, making it pass through this location on the York Subdivision at nearly 23:00. However, since the last days inbound VIA 02 got in so late (past 22:00 for those wondering), #01 had to be rescheduled for a 08:30 departure out of Toronto the next morning.
Here they are doing 45mp/h on the York Sub hurrying to make up at least some of their delayed time into Vancouver.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/IMG_33381-200x150.jpg)
