![Seeing Bill Hooper's recent post of a train on CP's Expanse Sub reminded my of this spring time chase I made down the line. This line has no shortage of scenery and is very remote. In this scene CP 2308 and a hidden 3071 lead a good sized train of interchange cars for GWRS in Assiniboia.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/DSC_0740-200x150.jpg)

![CN 840 is seen passing the 1/38th scale Eiffel Tower replica in Montmartre Saskatchewan, or "Paris of the Prairies" as the town slogan describes itself. Traffic levels on the Glenavon sub are quite low and there are no regular assignments on this line so this set of grain loads bound for Thunder Bay was a nice treat. Also worth noting are the flags at half mast for the Queen's passing one day prior.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DSC_4972-200x150.jpg)

![The often illusive SW900, Evraz #11 emerges from the roll shop with some freshly loaded coil cars on a hazy May evening. Recent news states that the Russian based steel company (Evraz) has decided to sell off it's North American subsidiaries including this Regina location. Evraz has owned the mill since 2008, before which it was owned and operated by IPSCO since the late 1950's. At one point the IPSCO was the largest employer in the city of Regina. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Western Canada's largest steel mill.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/DSC_1684-1-200x150.jpg)
