The bold new logo for the Algoma Central Railway's (now part of CN) Agawa Canyon Tour Train, as seen on coach AC 5705 "Spruce Lake". (All of the Algoma Central's "new" ex-Ski Train, ex-VIA/CN "Tempo" coaches are named after local lakes and rivers.)

  1. Do any of the coaches identify as Algoma Central? Curious, it’s as if the Name has made a comeback..

  2. The three F40PH locomotives all bear CN reporting marks, but all of the various passenger cars carry AC numbers.

The newer coaches don’t actually carry the Algoma Central name on them, just the Tour Train logos as seen above, and the HEP power cars actually don’t have the name either, just the slogan “Tracks of the Black Bear”.

However, the station at Sault Ste. Marie still carries the name Algoma Central Railway, and staff could be heard answering the phones as Algoma Central Railway. At least one each of the old ex-VIA baggage cars and coaches were spotted in front of the shops at Steelton, and these still bear the previous Algoma Central paint scheme and name. Also, the private car Agawa is still on the property and this was repainted into Algoma Central colours again following the CN takeoever (it had previously been repainted into Wisconsin Central colours and lettering.)
