Caption: Sitting under the train shed before departure an hour later, Amtrak P42 12 and its train of Amcans (nickname for the round-side Amfleet passenger cars) waits at Toronto's Union Station on VIA #97 "The Maple Leaf". Operating with Amtrak equipment but using VIA crews in Canada, it will depart at 8:30am for Niagara Falls, and after customs inspection will cross the border into New York as Amtrak #64 with an American crew from Amtrak.
