A late running 309 flies through Whitby behind CN 8909, 5642, BNSF 6584, and DPU CN 8954. They must have been trying to make back some time on what is normally nocturnal train through these parts, as the detector about a mile or so west read 61mph. As seems typical in railroading, the BNSF unit is an A-1-A trucked speedster intended for use on the successors to the old ATSF 199/991 trains, so of course it has managed to find it's way onto a CN freight. 1231hrs.
