Caption: Having just met VIA #1 at Zephyr, CN 412 has slowed down in order to avoid having to stop as 301 enters the siding at Pine Orchard ahead. CN 5474 and BCOL 4623 power the first of five southbounds that 301 will meet at Pine Orchard, 412, 112, 114, 302 and 104. At least this very patient crew will get the main at Zephyr for another 114, and a 314 at Pefferlaw. Not sure who got the siding at Brechin East when they met 874. 1110hrs. I have never seem this much action on the Bala in one day, let alone a short winter's day. In the space of five hours I shot 10 freights (CN 412, 112, 114, 302, 104, 301, a second 114, 314, 874, 107) and one passenger (VIA 1). Must have been some weather related delays up north.
