With the future of the tri-weekly Sault Ste. Marie to Hearst passenger train in jeopardy, a group of us made the trip on what was to be the second last weekend of federally-funded service. CN agreed to keep running the train until the end of April due to the short notice given. Only on April 14 did the federal government agree to a one year extension of subsidy for the train, which is now subsidized until March 31, 2015.
