Switch B43 is lined for the reverse for the last time from the former SOR (CN) Shop building at Hamilton - meanwhile the crew waits about 10 minutes to get the attention of the RTC. Taking advantage of the temporary perch, a bird of prey flew atop RLK 4057 looking for its next meal. After about 4 minutes this bird took off for a kill. Any birders on here that can identify the bird - I can send a full size photo if the bird if need be. Over the next weeks to months this entire area should be transformed - two new GO mainline tracks are set to be installed where I am standing for the James St. North station - and will look very very different.

    I think it’s a hawk too. Stephen, are they blowing out the yard at Stuart Street? I know there’s been some talk about developing the area. Speaking of GO, I just moved into the Dufferin/Queen West area of Toronto (not quite Parkdale;) and being a railfan, unfortunately we only have GO trains and VIA when back in the day both CP and CN ran freights down to the rail lands into Union Station at the base of CN Tower.

    Actually my Girlfriend, from Hamilton, says its a red Tail Hawk. ;)
