RLK 4003 notches up as they begin to shove a cut of cars back into the Imperial Oil plant in Nanticoke. It is hard to come by anything but a GP20D on the Hagersville Subdivision so getting to see this classic GP9 was a nice treat.

  1. I would agree the power may be classic, but the patch job is anything but ;)

  2. With the rare slope-nose, very few GP9′s were built with it stock from EMD (as opposed to many GP18 and GP20′s)

  3. I’ve seen worse patch jobs, Steve :P If they applied a GW logo on the nose it might look better.

Thanks for pointing that out Dan, I knew 4003 looked a little different then say a standard GP9. It’s just a cool locomotive.

  4. Very nice shot Joe. It’s not just 4003 whcih has the slope-nose, most, or all of the RLK GP9′s have them.
