Now that we are finally enjoying a hot and humid day, here's a reminder of the nasty winter we just left behind.

SOR has brought in a new Knox Kershaw snow fighter from their sister railway Quebec Gatineau to move the massive amounts of accumulated snow and deep drifts along the Nanticoke spur near Jarvis, ON.

The main line and yard tracks into the refinery, steel plant and power generating station all required a substantial number of passes to move the snow back from the running rails.

During the first clearing attempt, the sides of the machine scraped the sides of the drifts up to cab window level.
