CN C44-9W 2597, CN ES44DC 2316 and CN SD70M-2 8949 "pull" 56 loads of coal off of the steep Luscar Industrial Spur. Due to the severe grade and heavy coal train, brakes are applied at the top of the hill where the coal loadout is located, and the train is pulled down the hill to avoid a runaway. L769 will now venture across CN's 26 mile roller coaster Mountain Park Sub and then onto the Foothills Sub at Parkhill Junction. They'll take their 56 cars to the siding at Embarras, and then return light power to the yard at Leyland (half a mile behihd me) to get the other half of their train and continue loading. Once loaded, they'll run around their train and pull the other 56 loads over to Embarras, double their train together and make a run to the mainline (Edson Sub) at Holloway. This normally takes 2 crews, sometimes 3 if things don't go according to plan!
