Not letting a day go to waste: With plans to go out with someone for the morning changed, I decided not to let this day slip away from my grasp. Camera grip in hand I ventured out on my day off to shoot CP's internal shortline, the Kawartha Lakes Railway. The shot in mind was the serpentine curve at Myrtle, but a long train was needed to accentuate the grade this train had to overcome. Seen here, CP Train T08-06 is climbing the grade into Myrtle with a lengthy 44 car train in tow, the biggest I've seen on this pain killing 10 mph (once 30 MPH) mainline to Havelock. And to think, back in the day the CPR ran 120 MPH silk trains on this very same jointed rail.
