Sitting in the rain on a gloomy day, a gang of brand new JT42CWRM "Class 66" (or, Class 77) units sit at CN's Mimico Yard awaiting forwarding to the Toronto Port Authority.

Euro Cargo Rail 077026, 077025, 07727, 07723 with grey Crossrail DE 6312 among them are just 5 of the 9 units waiting to head overseas to Europe after being built at EMD's London, Ontario locomotive assembly plant. Moving on their own wheels, EMDX idler cars with a regular coupler at one end and buffers at the other allow regular locomotives to move them (note the "Spare hook & buffer" lettering on the toolbox). Today the EMD plant is closed, and export locomotives no longer travel through Canada to the ports in Halifax and Toronto.

Switch and track panels litter the yard, with the CN yard office and Lantic Sugar plants visible on the right, and the Islington Avenue overpass and a GO train in GO Transit's Willowbrook Yard on the left.

Taken from behind the fence of an adjacent commercial property looking into the yard.
