Southern Ontario Railway began operating the CN Hagersville Subdivision on September 20, 1997. Less than 2 months after start up, SOR was using leased CN 3510, HLCX 113, CN 3569, and CN 3519 to switch the Imperial Oil (Esso) refinery at Nanticoke.

  1. I missed the Railtex/Raillink era by a couple years – was it the change of ownership that also gave the change of power on SOR Nanticoke operations?

  2. I don’t think so… the M420Ws were past their prime when SOR got them. They were just eventually replaced by various geeps… that also had quite the turnover!

  3. Neat shot Rob. The HLCX appears to be a former CSX unit.
