  1. For the record…

    Thunder Bay Packaging was owned by Buchanan Forest Products as a truck to rail/boat transfer for pulp from Terrace Bay. Pulp is now shipped 2.5 hours down the highway to a transfer facility in CN’s Neebing Yard.

  2. Its cheaper to truck the pulp to Thunder Bay, (average of 160 bales a truck vs 360 a rail car) and load onto CN vs a direct CP shipment.

    From what I can tell, lately they have been using this method to ship west/south to MI/WI/TN… Before the cars would get placed on the “CN Haulage” for Franz (only to get delayed another week) and go to various eastern spots like Mehoopany, PA; Ottawa, ON; Chester, PA; Crabtree, PQ etc…

    Not sure if the next shipment down this line will be scrap steel from the plant or what. Nice touch Dave.

    I guess they are shipping out of the old shop at Neebing then?
