Back in the day when I shot this image, unfortunately I either had to know somebody or have an inside scoop on what was going on; because hand-held scanners were still relatively unknown (mostly just base units existed) and communication between railfans was sparse at best. So here I am on my own and this westbound comes roaring around the bend. Was it acid empties? Loads? Outside chance it was oil. I really don't know. At very irregular intervals I did see this train running either direction. About 40 tank cars and a caboose. Perhaps someone out there can fill me in on the details of these trains. Lead unit 9424 is the only number recorded. Ol' Dundas station still looks good, but it only lasted another 10 years or so before a stove fire lead to its eventual demise. Image looks to be taken around 1000 or so. Morning shadow.
