Part of an early 1951 order by Wabash to GMD London for 20 F7A's, 3 SW8's and a GP7 for their Canadian operations, interesting features on the 1161A include MARS lights in the top light assembly, silver outlined numberboard housings, the rounder passenger style pilots, and the square-topped winterization hatches found on some early GMD units. The Canadian Wabash F-unit fleet would later be renumbered into the 600-700 series, and when N&W absorbed the Wabash they became 3600-3700 series units. Leader 1161A would become WAB 670, and then N&W 3670.
