For those with young kids or for those over 30.. as the Count from Sesame Street would say - One... Two.. Three! Three F-Units! A-ha-ha-ha-ha. Three FP9A's make up today's Woodstock turn, as they make a lift of some loaded multis for Gen-Auto.

  1. Nice shot, Count von Count.

  2. I’ll give you a gold star… but not for the caption. I think you were out in the cold too long. Nice shot. They need logos.

  3. Thank you for the gold. I blame too many kids programs over the last 7 years.

Of interest, this may be a photo of 1400 in the 70′s :) http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=14794#comments

  4. Well I’m over 30 Count von Stephen, like over 30 + 30 + 20, A-ha-ha-ha ! And yes, just like A units, Sesame St was big in my life, watching many, many programs with 4 kids, and out trying to photograph many A units, here & there (favourite colour scheme for me – AT&SF ). But sure like 1401’s colour scheme and the colour on the 2nd A unit even more, A-ha-ha-ha, CNR green, black & gold ! Now excuse me, Sesame St is about to start !
    A-ha-ha-ha !!!

  5. LOL. 5 years ago my kids were half the age they are now, we are in a much different world now, we’ve left Seasme street in the dust… I just gave my 10 year old a laptop a couple weeks ago and she’s already proficient at typing… how???

The 3 F-units were an amazing thing, happened a few times in 2015… really hasn’t happened since though. Gonna be interesting if they can do it again.. never say never.. 2020 has been full of surprises! I’d love to say I shot 6508 in green and gold leading much, but I did not. Just a couple times.

Would love to see a CN executive set in that colour…

  6. Stephen, it’s not just the A units that make this picture so enjoyable, it is the angle, the lighting, no poles sticking above the train, and the inclusion of the Woodstock old passenger station. As for Sesame Street, my kids’ kids now have long moved to computers, but I went back to it to watch CNN’s Covid-19 Sat programs with Big Bird and friends. As for A units, B units too, and all the letters of the alphabet used to designate various classes of steam locomotives on different railways, I am very glad I learned and still know the alphabet. Now, I wonder what the Count say about GG-1 ? A-Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha, John
