  3. The HEP power car is an ex Rio Grande Alco PB unit! Can’t quite see the names or numbers of the coaches/baggage, could be ex-California Zephyr rolling stock too. Thanks for posting this interesting pic. And thanks to the Coalition for Algoma Passenger Trains, National Dream Renewed and even NARP in the U.S. for successfully advocating to save this passenger rail service.   4. I get chills thinking about how amazing this place must have been back in the 70′s and 80′s.

    I would have loved to spend nights with the operator, listening to the wolves and loons and radio crackle… interrupted only by the passing of CPR and ACR freights and the occasional passenger train.
