The New Kid on the block, QGRY 2500 is leading train 518-25 - Stratford Swing job. On weekends, 518 runs to Kitchener, down to the CP Interchange, and back, performing work on the way as needed, and fairly often one of the tasks of the day is to bring loaded Toyota multis from CP to the yard for the next days 432.
At the time of this writing, catching the Stratford local power is the only way you'll see a solid GW Orange consist on GEXR - these engines usually power 581 from Stratford to Goderich and Hensall most weekdays and 518 on weekends. In time this will change, as the orange invasion continues..
Speaking of the invasion.. QGRY 2500 arrived a week or so ago, to replace GEXR (SLC) 3821 that is being sent away - with fate unknown. 3821 is the last Railtex painted engine on the property and one of the last survivors from the takeover of the Guelph subdivision in late 1998.

On weekends, 518 runs Stratford to Kitchener, down to the CP Interchange (CPR Waterloo sub) and back, performing work on the way (anywhere, really) as needed, and fairly often one of the tasks of the day is to bring loaded Toyota multis from CP to the yard for the next days 432.

At the time of this writing, catching the Stratford local power is the only way you'll see a solid GW Orange consist on GEXR - these engines usually power 581 from Stratford to Goderich and Hensall most weekdays and of course the swing job 518 on weekends. In time this will change, as the orange invasion continues..

Speaking of the invasion.. QGRY 2500 arrived a week or so ago, and the rumour according to trades employees is 2500 is to replace GEXR 3821 that is being sent away, to an unknown fate. One crew member told me 3821 needs rewiring but it's 'too expensive'. Doesn't sound good.. does it.

  1. Awesome! :D I can’t wait to catch this!

  2. Steve, during the week, what time does 581 usually depart from/return to Stratford?
