The chase was on – my one and only shot at photographing a train on the CASO between St Thomas and Fargo – at this time CASO trains from St Thomas ran once a week with about 20 to 30 cars. Great shot Steve! I only got one train in the CASO yard once at St Thomas, other then that it was just the steam specials. Too bad it’s all gone now.

You heard CN 513 get a clearance on the CP St.Thomas Sub?

Corrected – was thinking St Thomas when writing Couldn’t shoot them in St Thomas proper, I wouldn’t have made it.

While CN 513 did run on the St. Thomas Sub (Joint track in St. Thomas) it would have been yard limits, thus no clearance.. I believe.

However, I do recall CN getting work clearances on the St. Thomas Sub in the joint track section at Ingersoll in the CP days..

Stand to be corrected on that – the St. Thomas sub was an interesting multi-railway operation not all that long ago..
