Daniel Odette recently posted a set of great night shots. His last image captured some industrial railroading in the “Golden Mile” area of Scarborough. (Daniel and I nearly bumped into each other - except we were about a mile and 40 years apart)! My photograph was taken at the corner of Bertrand and Thermos Avenue. It was part of the Scarborough Industrial Spur which was removed in ’94. This is my third and final shot from this sequence. That is my friend, Terry, riding shotgun in the cab – I'm not sure that his smile could have been any bigger. We were about 14 at the time and gladly accepted the engineer’s kind offer to ride with him for a bit. Our biggest concern was whether our bikes would still be there when we got back (they were)!

Here’s Daniel’s terrific photograph…

In case you are interested and missed my earlier postings, here they are again. In the Comments section, Mr. Dan and Mike Lockwood added some great insight into this long-gone piece of track (including a link to a detailed map)…
