On this early spring evening, I made a stop at one of my favourite locations. Here, westbound VIA train 67 blows by the empty sidings and the restored Grand Trunk stone station in Prescott.

  1. Interesting, the station at Prescott is very similar to that on the GEXR Guelph Sub., at former St. Mary’s Junction, the junction to go to London (which remains) or Sarnia.

The line to Sarnia was removed, but the bridge over the Thames River (Sarnia Bridge) is now a walking trail.

  2. That branch that split at St Marys Jct station is of the original Grand Trunk mainline…those stations weren’t obviously found down here…..Brampton’s first station was similar, Georgetown, St Marys Jct, Napanee, Belleville, Kingston….all stone, with variances in number of french doors and windows.
