The morning mixed freight is climbing the grade out of Armstrong when it comes to an unscheduled stop.
GTW 5946 releases a large puff of smoke and requires attention from the crew. After about 20mins they are on their way, any guesses on the problem?

  1. Burned out a traction motor maybe?

  2. I think Mr. Smith has it; otherwise perhaps a stuck brake shoe?

  3. Traction motor was my first thought.

  4. Smoke from an electrical fire is usually black, whereas brake shoe smoke is normally bluish. My guess is stuck brakes, especially given that the crew carried on.
