VIA #85 is just a couple hundred meters from Kitchener's Station, as it ducks under Margaret Ave.
factories line the ROW and CN's yard may be seen in the background.
If I recall, there used to be a very good pizza joint just to the right on Margaret Ave and Victoria St.

  1. Interesting.. a third track on the south and the St. Leger St. spur still there. And I see a track remnant on the left side (a sorta fourth track!). Thanks for sharing!

  2. That “4th track” is actually a spur into the once uniroyal warehouse that came off the old St.Leger St. Spur. The track on the south side, which was tagged “the pacific” was used primarily for passenger trains meeting in Kitchener…..Stephen you can still see remnants of that siding at Lancaster St, close to the 62.14 cross over.

  3. Interesting. Going to find my 1980 CN TT and have a read.

  4. Interesting photo. Where did the St. Leger Street spur run to?
