I was invited up into the cabin at 12 Street East by an operator that must have been only a couple years older than I at the time. He was very accommodating, nd patient with my numerous questions. Unfortunately, I did not record his name....
I don't know, for certain, why CP was sending these trains west with so many engines. Perhaps it had something to do this the construction at Kicking Horse and Rogers Passes. The grade-reduction projects were nearly (?) complete at Kicking Horse, but on-going at Rogers.
