The CN GP9 at speed, working Sarnia Yard, day in and out in relative obscurity. For a brief moment, a camera focuses on the subject, exposes an image, and back to the mundane toiling go the crew and their engine. It may not be glamorous work, but lets not forget the people who do this job, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, many of whom browse this site. It may not have the romance of the mainline, but it is a job that has to be done and it pays the bills. So too should the camera focus on the mundane, so one day it may be appreciated, lest it only become a memory.

  1. Amen to that. Think of all the stock and locomotives that went unrecorded because we thought they would always be there.

  2. Thanks for the recognition. Well said. Luckily I am a railfan who is also an engineer and a railroader for 35 years. A kid who wanted to be an engineer since I was 10. Dreams can come true.

  3. Hey, freshly shopped trucks under that GP9.
