First time in a long time trying to scan negatives reveals the day the Royal Canadian Pacific came through Cambridge. The only thing better was 2816 when she came through. I wonder if Hunter has ever once wondered if he should have maintained 2816. I see that as one of the worst short sighted moves by todays modern business "Cash is all the matters "mindset. When you forget where you came from......At least we still have the RCP

  1. That was a fun day. I chased it from Havelock to Agincourt, then had to break off the chase to go to work.

Safe bet Hunter has never once had a second thought about the 2816. Sentimentality does not pay dividends.

  2. No, business no longer cares about goodwill or “positive statements”. They talk about “engaging” people, but as always, talk is cheap.

  3. I have found that in business, goodwill is the most important thing there is… until someone offers to do the same work at slightly less cost. A lot of these things are driven by competition, and CP has tough competition from CN… who has no steam engine.

  4. Which brings us full circle back to 6060!!!! Interesting, although not surprising that UP has no problem with it…….
