This is interesting. We have a relatively rare GP-35 leading the "Exshaw Turn" this day. Also, it is one of the very few trains operating shortly after this May snow storm. But what I think is the most notable aspect of the photo is the consist. The tank cars are separated by flat cars, suggesting that there is something contained in them that requires special handling - perhaps explosives for the quarrying at Exshaw?
There are several empty aggregate cars in behind the tank cars. 
Once again, I wish I had taken better notice of things back in 1986.
