CN 394 approaches CN Masseys with CN 3049 and CN 5703 leading a long train. 3049 is about a week into revenue service on CN and is from the second batch of GE ET44Ac's that CN has on order. Noteworthy about this order is the boxy looking hump towards the rear of the unit has been remodelled to blend into the shape of the unit nicer. Guess that makes the first ET44's on CN to be 'unique' units. If anyone wishes to see a close up roster of 3049 to study the differences let me know!

  1. Great observation Joseph. Back in October, I shot a DPU at Grafton which was CN 3030 as it too shows the boxy look. You can view it here: http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/CN-3030-mid-train.jpg
