After capturing Surprise # 1 earlier, I drove around Paris to try and setup for my next shot. I ended up in front of the maintenance building at the Market / Broadway St. crossing. Here on the bend, I heard a horn blow. Not knowing what was coming, I couldn't believe my eye as I looked through my viewfinder.

In the right spot, and at the right time...CN's Track Maintenance Evaluation System train O999 came around the bend with CN 8018 leading, followed by Amtrak 39037, CN 414852 and CN 1057.

Kudos to other rp.ca contributors who gave information about this train when it made it's trek east earlier in the week. I am lucky enough to be one of the rp.ca contributors to have caught it's return trip. 1. Todd, next time use the ‘share link’ seen mid page. Much easier and shows the caption too :) If you send your correction our Database editor would be happy to assist !

Glad you got it! The Superliner is coming off at Chicago, but this train is back in Mid may in this area.

  2. Great shot Todd! This curve is perfect for the shot.

Steve; any idea if the TEST set will test the GEXR in May? It normally shows up in late July-early August.

  3. Great shot from Market St Todd. LOL, i have always wanted to shoot pics of trains on this S curve but never got the chance :-)

Still very curious about the Amtrak car and why they would need to lease it though.
