A different take on Bayview...this shot is looking back from the Plains Road overpass to the pedestrian bridge commonly used by railfans. My initial intent of photographing from the overpass was to try and do a Time Machine shot to one of Arnold Mooney's shots from years before, using the east side of the bridge. However, my time was slightly constrained to get one more train, and I captured this freight.

CN 2942 and 3023 lead this eastbound intermodal train off of the Niagara Escarpment via the Dundas Sub., and rolling nicely along through Bayview onward to Vaughan.

PS - anyone know what the white plastic units are on top of 2942's cab? I am assuming a satellite?

  1. They are antennas

  2. Could be the positive train control (ptc). Soon to be mandatory south of the border.

  3. I swear the ET44ACs are NEVER leading, always the damn ES44ACs
