Sporting well worn maroon and grey script paint 5 years into the "action red" era, CP FA2 4088 sits at the Quebec Street shop in London ON awaiting its next assignment in October 1972.

Part of one of CP's few early orders for mainline diesels in the early 1950's, 4088 would recieve a new coat of paint next year, but would only last a few more years in service before being stored at St. Luc with much of the CP FA/FB fleet in 1975, and officially retired in 1977.
