A Herzog MPM Multi-Purpose Machine heads north out of Canyon Station on the ACR line in the Agawa Canyon.
The crew is heading into the middle of a J.E.H. MacDonald landscape.

  1. Jeff, how do you get to the area now that the passenger train (not the Tour) is done?

  2. Last year I took the logging road from Frater to Eton Station which is a tough 2.5 hour + drive in…
    Not fun.
This year I too the logging road from 101 (east of Wawa) to the Agawa cross over bridge.
it was approx. 28 kms in with two flooded stretches due to the heavy rains just before we went in.
Besides that the that road was in great shape all the way to Millwood on the ACR Line.
This year I paddled from the Cross over bridge to Lake Superior – 84 km paddle.
You can get into the old station north of Frater and walking in the old road. (east if Frater Station, road is in good shape.)
There is good parking at the start and is about 2 k hike to the rail line.
I will post a trip report and links to images of the area here.

  3. P.S. either road is not a road for cars with low clearance.
