  1. Odd to see the 3 cluster of class lights on an SD40. Photographed this unit with 5775 in the CN yard at Oshawa awaiting movement to the scrapers in Pickering. Was sad to see and to know there future . Nice shot Paul.

  2. The engines that got away only to come back… for a second life. I certainly enjoyed the ‘second life’ era of SD’s on CP – with the ethanols they were plentiful around here.

  3. Great shot Paul. 6089 no longer exists, and has been completely parted out at K&K Recycling. CP 5775 was in the process of having its cab torn apart when I last visited. DME 6085 and 6093 were shoved in last Monday morning by CN 546, and this will likely be their last morning fully intact. Sad to see that some of original maroon SD40s couldn’t find a second life in a museum.

  4. Daniel is the scrapping operation shootable?

  5. There is an open field you can walk through that leads up to the scrap yard from Clements Road, but it is full of weeds, and is probably private property. I managed to get day pictures by drone, however, I mostly hovered over the units at night when photography wasn’t really possible.
