VIA 84 stopped at Brantford for a crew change with P42DC 915, and 3 LRC coaches. Anybody in the know care to answer what made 84 detour over the Dundas/Oakville today?

  1. Strange..VIA trains never change crews on short runs. Might have been a derailment or fatality.

  2. Mechanical failure. Note that 84 is on duty about 0500 at Sarnia thus the crew change.

  3. So that explains the crew change. What about the detour?

  4. Actually it does not explain the crew change either? The crews can work at least 10 hrs. I am not sure what time the crew would be on duty but the train leaves Sarnia at 6:10. What time was the picture taken?

  5. 3 pm or so. If they are on duty about 0500 they are quite close to 10 hours.
