For a shot I had not intended to take, it came out pretty good. I managed to cross paths with this train three times in my travels for work today, this being the third. While driving on Grey Street I happened to see a bright orange thing out of the corner of my eye. I had figured RLHH 496 was long gone, but I managed to get to the end of George Street and jump out for a quick shot as 496 backed in to the CN yard with RLHH 2081, four hoppers from Ingenia and NECR 3840 shoving.

  1. Yes you did do well! Better than the rosters I got later this afternoon too!

3840 died as they were getting ready to leave…so a guy from Hamilton had to come and troubleshoot their loading issues.

  2. I’m interested in knowing SOR’s operations down the Burford spur. Sometimes a single unit, sometimes bookended by two, then Rob Smith’s ‘historic’ photo of two units on the front including an SD40-2!! Are they still getting a feel for handling Ingenia or are the 2nd units along for the ride because of other jobs?

  3. 2081 was left in Brantford to be picked up by SOR 597 (Hagersville Sub.) to lift that night, to replace RLHH 3049 that blew its turbocharger Monday night (per Joseph Bishop). RLHH 3049 was brought back to Hamilton by 496. Generally 496 only has one unit. There is no run-around at Ingenia so they shove on the return trip. NECR 3840 has been the “regular” on 496 lately.

  4. FOAMER !!!! Get back to work, my tax dollars are being wasted….

  5. I’m ensuring that all forms of transportation operate safely in your community. Thank you for your comments kind citizen.

  6. I haven’t seen a trolley on my street in 3 days, whats going on ?? !!

  7. I’m concerned that you saw a trolley on your street 4 days ago…

  8. What trolley’s are you Gentlemen on about? :)

  9. Must have been this puppy when it was presumably testing with Brantford Transit: http://c8.alamy.com/comp/F4X2DH/waikiki-trolly-tourist-bus-shopping-that-runs-between-waikiki-and-F4X2DH.jpg

When is the bus stop signs going up agin by his house? ;)

  10. Wow Joe, the funny thing is I rode that when Laurie and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon. Laurie wouldn’t go for the matching his and hers Hawaiian shirt and sun dress at Hilo Hatties. Such a shame…

  11. Brad Wednesdays normally are ingenia days but subject to usual variance or occasional extras….

Since it makes sense to transfer power at the same time as an ingenia run, why not take advantage of it? Beats riding the side of a hopper in winter.

You brantford boys crack me up :)
