  2. They are being returned to CIT group as their lease is expiring at the end of the year. The UP spec group #1000-1024 is the one affected, the 1026 and others are staying for now.

  3. I seem to recall that CP bought out the lease a few years back on their group(?)

  4. I heard that as well, it’s nice to have these around to contrast with all the red.

  5. In addition to different number board placement,in the cab, the early ones built to UP spec..had the fridge in a different spot, a pushbutton on Conductor’s side to operate the train’s horn, and crappy seats. The later ones built to CP specs had better seats and no horn button.
