  1. I’m not a big foreign power fan but this is an EMD and I like the look of those radiators. Same goes for the SD90′s. This KCS paint has a nice snappy look to it also. I’m not up on CP operations, have they purchased any new GM products since the SD90 fiasco?

  2. CP has only purchased the GP20 (135 units) and SD30(50 units) ECO models which utilized frames, trucks and some other components from GP7/9 and SD40-2 models.Hopefully they will put in an order for the SD70Ace after testing them out. Here is the GP20ECO model http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=23161 and the SD30ECO http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=23230

  3. Doubtful on the ACe as they tested a CSX preproduction one and the 2 GMDX demos back in 2004 or 2005, and they didn’t do so well in Ontario so I heard. If the current buying pattern holds, and with EHH out, the only thing coming from Indiana will be the ECO’s. You might see an order for the ET44AC. But that depends. If they want to get rid of the AC4400CW’s from 1995, then they’ll replace it with the ET44AC. CP apparently is in a love affair with GE.

They could test the ACe-T4 model, but don’t expect any orders since they really haven’t ordered from EMD since 1999.

Rebuilds don’t count. I’m talking new.

  4. Or I should say remanufactured locomotives, not rebuilds. The ECO is seen as a remanufactured locomotive, and for this purpose, is not considered new since they recycle parts.
