Caption: This Alco S2 was CP's first production Diesel locomotive, built in 1943 and retired in 1983. It was sadly scrapped less than a year after this photo was taken.

  4. The oldest (diesel) switcher in Canada would probably be CNR’s first diesel, 77, at CRM/Exporail ;)

    7010, IIRC, was saved as part of CP’s historic diesel collection (along with 8905, 4090, 4469, etc) but I guess it never found a home.
