  1. Those stainless steel ex-CP cars are a rare sight at Spadina coachyard, only showing up very late in the game before the move to VIA’s Toronto Maintenance Centre in Mimico.

    The idea was, IIRC, the ex-CP cars would stay on the Montreal section of The Canadian when it was split to get serviced by CP, while the ex-CN cars would stay on the Toronto section to get serviced by CN at Spadina.
